Real Enterprise presents Enterprise Gigs in North and South UK Back to News

Mark Delamere

A sparkling range of dynamic and in most cases twenty-something 'older brother/ sister' aged speakers thrilled, entertained and inspired several hundred Key Stage Four students across both Gigs. Every speaker was selected according to their own enterprising qualities and success and had been previously briefed with at least one in person session by one of our academic board. This ensured the students all enjoyed real, genuine speakers who spoke from the heart but were also aware of the key enterprise related messages required to be expressed to the students.
Speakers ranged from Intrapreneurs such as Heidi Hansen from Kiss Radio to successful entrepreneurs such as Louisa Fletcher and self-employed DJs Xfm's Tim Cocker and Radio One's Trevor Nelson. The Gigs were event managed by a team of graduates from the Cambridge-MIT Enterprisers programme.

The feedback from the students was extremely positive with responses garnered from over a hundred. Whilst acknowledging a proactive student willing to engage in post event market research is intrinsically likely to be more positive we were delighted with the following data:

Would you go again? Would you recommend to your mates?
Yes 84%
Has the gig increased you're understanding of enterprise?
Yes 91%
Has the gig increased the likelihood of you being enterprising?
Yes 78%
We look forward to securing further support and funding in order to allow us to spread that enterprise spirit to more of our country's teenagers.
